A ground vapor barrier is a polythene sheeting which restricts moisture from rising which can cause mouldy and damp conditions in your home creating an unhealthy living environment.
Ground vapor barriers are installed if a home has an enclosed subfloor to prevent mould, rot, excess moisture and many other issues.
Ground vapor barriers are subsidized through EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes if your home qualifies however, if your home doesn’t qualify, is a rental or new build, this subsidy will not apply.
