EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes Subsidy

What is the Warmer Kiwi Homes Subsidy?

As a homeowner, you may be eligible for Warmer Kiwi Homes, a government initiative that provides grants covering between 50% and 90% of the cost of home insulation and installing it. This program is available to homeowners who live in an eligible area or have a Community Services Card, or a SuperGold Combo card.

If your home is eligible for the grant, Warmer Kiwi Homes covers between 50% & 90% of the cost of insulation. WISE, through our funders, may be able to cover the remaining cost if you meet the criteria, which could make your insulation 100% off.

* Please note this is limited to the Taranaki Region and is ONLY available for ceiling, underfloor and ground vapour barrier insulation.

To be eligible for the grant:

If you had an insulation grant for a previous house, no worries, you can apply for a grant at your current home.

100% FREE home insulation

Even if you have insulation, it might not meet the current standard. Warmer Kiwi Homes subsidies can cover additional insulation for your home.

Without insulation your home will lose heat through the roof, the walls and the floor which will in turn make your home cold, damp and ultimately impact your family’s health.

For houses built before 2000, insulation may be inadequate, is no longer in good condition or in the case of many older houses, never installed at all. In these cases, insulation can be easily retrofitted into the ceiling and underfloor cavities (if accessible).
