Pyjama Drive 2026

Pyjama Drive

WISE runs an annual Pyjama Drive from May to July to collect new or good quality second hand pyjamas for tamariki across Taranaki. Every winter, we see whānau struggling in cold and damp homes. This can lead to sickness, restless sleep, and missed days at kura. Something as simple as a warm pair of pyjamas can make a real difference.

Our goal is to ease some of that pressure by making sure tamariki have what they need to stay warm and sleep well through winter.

How it works

We collect

  • New pyjamas
  • Good quality second hand pyjamas
  • Dressing gowns
  • Girls and boys (Sizes 0–16)

Second hand pyjamas are washed, dried, and sorted by our team. Each child receives:

  • One new pair
  • One second hand pair

We do this so every tamariki gets two pairs of pyjamas, one that fits now and one they can grow into next year.

Where the PJ's go

All donations are carefully sorted by our team and prepared for distribution to whānau across Taranaki who need them most. We match sizes to make sure each child receives warm, comfortable pyjamas.

Through our Healthy Homes and community networks, we work directly with families living in cold and damp homes, where something as simple as warm sleepwear can make a real difference. Each pair is given with care, helping tamariki stay warm, sleep better, and feel a sense of comfort and dignity through the colder months.

Community impact

A warm pair of pyjamas might seem small, but it can mean: warmth through cold nights, better sleep, fewer sick days, more comfort and care.

Every donation helps us support tamariki and share warmth, aroha, and dignity across our community.

Last year, we saw firsthand the impact this drive had. The smiles from tamariki receiving their pyjamas say everything.
